3.11.2021: Kolloquium mit Ina Holev und Miriam Yosef: „Intersektionaler Aktivismus – kein Platz für Jüdinnen*Juden?“
Im Rahmen des öffentlichen Institutskolloquiums des Instituts für Diversitätsforschung laden wir zu einem Vortrag von Ina Holev und Miriam Yosef (Initiative „Jüdisch & intersektional“) ein. Der Vortrag findet am 3.11.21 im Zeitraum von 12 – 14 Uhr per Videokonferenz statt.
Kurzbeschreibung: Jüdinnen*Juden bleiben im intersektionalen, feministischen Aktivismus oft unsichtbar. Obwohl Antisemitismus ein globales und intersektionales Problem ist, werden jüdische Perspektiven in feministischer und antirassistischer Arbeit meist ausgeblendet. Intersektionaler Aktivismus schafft es regelmäßig nicht, Antisemitismuskritik erfolgreich einzubeziehen. Teilweise werden antisemitische Haltungen sogar reproduziert. Woran liegt dieser Ausschluss von jüdischen Perspektiven? In unserem Vortrag wollen wir dieser Frage nachgehen, weiterhin werden wir die Verbindung von Antisemitismuskritik und Rassismuskritik besprechen. Außerdem wollen wir zeigen, inwieweit intersektionaler Feminismus dazu geeignet ist, gegen Antisemitismus vorzugehen.
Die Vortragenden: Ina Holev studiert im Master Medienkulturwissenschaften an der Universität Düsseldorf. Als freie Journalistin schreibt sie in verschiedenen Medien über Medienrepräsentation, Digitales, Popkultur und jüdisches Leben. Sie ist Mitherausgeberin des defrag-Zines.
Miriam Yosef ist Politik- und Menschenrechtswissenschaftlerin. Als Research Fellow des Ernst Ludwig Ehrlich Studienwerks promoviert sie mit einem thematischen Fokus auf Menschenrecht, Intersektionalität und Critical Race Theory an der Universität Gießen. Sie arbeitet als freie Bildungsvermittlerin, Autorin und Kuratorin im Themenfeld Rassismuskritik, Antisemitismuskritik und Empowerment.

As part of the public colloquium of the Institute for Diversity Studies, we invite you to a lecture by Ina Holev and Miriam Yosef (Initiative „Jewish & Intersectional“). The lecture will be held in German on 3 November 2021 from 12 to 2 p.m. via video conference.
Short description: Jews often remain invisible in intersectional feminist activism. Although anti-Semitism is a global and intersectional problem, Jewish perspectives are usually left out of feminist and anti-racist work. Intersectional activism regularly fails to successfully include critiques of anti-Semitism. In some cases, anti-Semitic attitudes are even reproduced. What is the reason for this exclusion of Jewish perspectives? In our lecture, we will explore this question and discuss the connection between the critique of anti-Semitism and the critique of racism. We also want to show to what extent intersectional feminism is suitable for combating anti-Semitism.
The speakers: Ina Holev is studying Media Cultural Studies at the University of Düsseldorf. As a freelance journalist, she writes about media representation, digital, pop culture and Jewish life in various media. She is co-editor of the defrag-zine.
Miriam Yosef is a political scientist and human rights scholar and a Research Fellow of Ernst Ludwig Ehrlich Studienwerk. Her PhD at the University of Giessen focuses on human rights, intersectionality and critical race theory. She works as a freelance educator, author and curator in the thematic field of racism critique, anti-Semitism critique and empowerment.
